  • Author: jonathan_evans
  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: 12-15 servings 1x

Description

Quick and easy Italian sliders featuring layers of mortadella, ham, pepperoni, provolone, and marinara sauce on a soft Italian roll, finished with a bright red wine vinegar drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large loaf Italian rolls, sliced horizontally
  • 8 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
  • 4 ounces mortadella, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces pepperoni, sliced
  • 4 ounces ham, thinly sliced
  • 1 handful fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce, warmed
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the loaf of Italian rolls on a large sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
  3. Slice the loaf horizontally in half, keeping the bottom half intact.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together red wine vinegar, olive oil, dried oregano, garlic powder, black pepper, and a pinch of salt to create a drizzle.
  5. Layer mortadella, ham, and pepperoni onto the bottom half of the bread.
  6. Place provolone slices over the meat, then scatter torn fresh basil leaves on top.
  7. Microwave marinara sauce for 30 seconds to warm, then drizzle evenly over the cheese.
  8. Place the top half of the bread back on the loaf.
  9. Brush the vinegar mixture generously over the top of the rolls.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbling and tops are lightly golden.
  11. Cool for 2-3 minutes, then slice into 12-15 individual sliders.

Notes

Do not skip the vinegar drizzle as it cuts through the richness. Warm the marinara sauce before adding to prevent shocking the cheese. If cheese isn’t melting evenly, cover with foil for the last 2 minutes. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking.
