Description
A refreshing, high-protein beverage that combines the fizz of soda with the creaminess of a dirty soda, sweetened with orange juice and vanilla protein powder for a guilt-free treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup orange juice (fresh-squeezed or pulp-free)
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey isolate recommended)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (or half-and-half/dairy-free alternative)
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1/2 cup cola or orange soda
- 1 teaspoon honey or liquid stevia (optional, for sweetness)
Instructions
- Add the orange juice to the blender.
- Add the vanilla protein powder. If using a powder that clumps, add a splash of water or milk first and blend briefly to create a smooth paste.
- Add the heavy cream and ice cubes to the blender.
- Blend on high speed for 10-15 seconds until the ice is crushed and the mixture is smooth and frothy.
- Pour the blended mixture into a tall glass.
- Slowly pour the cola or orange soda over the back of a spoon into the glass to preserve carbonation and create a layered effect.
- Garnish with an orange slice or mint sprig if desired.
- Insert a thick straw and serve immediately.
Notes
Add the soda last to maintain carbonation. Do not blend the soda with the other ingredients. For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream and plant-based protein. The drink is best served immediately as the fizz dissipates over time.
