Mango Strawberry Avocado Salsa: 5 Zesty, Bright Bites

  • Author: jonathan_evans
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A vibrant, fresh fruit salsa combining sweet mango and strawberries with creamy avocado, zesty lime, and a hint of jalapeño heat. Perfect for summer snacking, meal prep, or topping grilled proteins.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large ripe mango, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and finely chopped
  • 1 large ripe avocado, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 2 large limes, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash all produce thoroughly. Peel the mango and dice the flesh into small, bite-sized pieces. Hull and finely chop the strawberries. Place both fruits in a medium-sized glass bowl.
  2. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Dice gently and add to the bowl with the fruits.
  3. Dice the red onion and submerge it in a small bowl of ice water for 10 minutes to reduce pungency. Drain and pat dry before adding to the salsa bowl.
  4. Chop the cilantro leaves and tender stems. Mince the jalapeño (remove seeds for less heat). Add both to the bowl.
  5. Squeeze the limes to extract juice, straining if desired to remove seeds. Drizzle the lime juice over the fruit mixture.
  6. Add the honey or agave, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Toss everything gently with a silicone spatula to coat the fruits without breaking them down.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Let the salsa sit for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

Use very ripe mangoes and avocados for best texture and flavor. Soaking diced onion in ice water reduces its sharp bite. To prevent avocado browning, toss with lime juice immediately after chopping. For best results, add fresh cilantro just before serving to prevent wilting. Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to minimize air exposure.
