Description
A bright, tangy, and creamy no-churn frozen yogurt made with just three main ingredients: plain yogurt, frozen mango chunks, and a touch of lime juice. This simple dessert requires no ice cream maker and delivers a velvety texture that is lighter than traditional ice cream.
Ingredients
- 2 cups full-fat plain Greek yogurt
- 2 cups frozen mango chunks
- 2–3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Let frozen mango chunks sit on the counter for 10-15 minutes to soften slightly for easier blending.
- Add yogurt, mango chunks, honey (or maple syrup), and lime juice to a high-speed blender. Start with liquids to help blades spin freely.
- Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes, stopping to scrape down sides as needed, until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy like a thick milkshake.
- Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness with more honey or tartness with more lime juice if desired.
- Pour the mixture into an airtight container, smooth the top with a spatula, and cover tightly with a lid or plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface.
- Freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight for the firmest texture.
- Before serving, let the container sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to soften slightly for easy scooping.
Notes
Use full-fat yogurt for the creamiest texture; low-fat versions may result in ice crystals. If using fresh mango, freeze chunks on a baking sheet until solid before blending. Sugar acts as an antifreeze, so reducing sweeteners may make the texture harder. For a denser texture, use a food processor instead of a blender.
