Description
A quick and zesty Hawaiian garlic shrimp dish featuring a rich garlic butter sauce brightened with fresh lime juice, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Large Shrimp (21–25 count), peeled, deveined, tails on
- 4–5 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Chicken Broth
- 2–3 tbsp Fresh Lime Juice
- 2 Green Onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp Dry White Wine (optional)
- 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped
- Salt and Black Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant without burning.
- Increase heat to medium-high and add shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque on one side.
- Flip the shrimp and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Add chicken broth and white wine (if using), simmering for 1 minute to reduce slightly.
- Remove the pan from heat and stir in fresh lime juice, green onions, and parsley.
- Serve immediately with rice or crusty bread.
Notes
Ensure shrimp are completely dry before cooking to achieve a good sear. Do not overcook shrimp; they are done when they turn pink and opaque. For a lighter version, substitute half the butter with olive oil. If using frozen shrimp, thaw completely and pat very dry.
