  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

A quick and easy viral Pinterest recipe featuring plump shrimp in a rich, garlicky cream sauce served over fluffy rice. This dish is customizable for spice levels and comes together in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (large or extra-large)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or low-sodium chicken broth
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 cups long grain white rice (Jasmine or Basmati), cooked
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped for garnish
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package directions, rinsing it first to remove excess starch. Fluff with a fork and keep warm.
  2. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil or butter. Sear shrimp in a single layer for 1-2 minutes per side until pink. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the pan, then add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in white wine or broth and simmer for 1 minute. Add heavy cream and simmer gently for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Remove pan from heat and stir in lemon juice.
  7. Return shrimp to the pan and toss gently for 30 seconds to warm through.
  8. Serve immediately over rice, garnished with fresh parsley or chives.

Notes

Ensure shrimp are completely dry before searing to prevent steaming. Add lemon juice off the heat to prevent the cream from curdling. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of milk or broth. If too thin, simmer longer.
