Description
A creamy, high-protein smoothie made with blended cottage cheese, frozen banana, and coconut milk. This hack delivers a rich, dessert-like texture without the chalkiness of traditional protein powders.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup small-curd cottage cheese
- 1 cup full-fat canned coconut milk
- 1 large ripe banana (frozen)
- 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2–3 ice cubes
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Peel the banana and break it into chunks. If using a fresh banana, freeze it for at least 30 minutes prior to blending.
- Add the cottage cheese and coconut milk to a high-speed blender. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth with no visible curds.
- Add the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and honey (if using). Blend for another 10 seconds to combine.
- Toss in the frozen banana chunks and ice cubes. Blend on high for 60-90 seconds until the mixture is thick, creamy, and smooth. Adjust consistency with more milk or ice as needed.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary. Serve immediately, optionally topped with cinnamon or chia seeds.
Notes
Blend the dairy base (cottage cheese and milk) first to ensure a smooth texture without lumps. Use frozen fruit for a thicker, ice-cream-like consistency. The shake can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours, though it may separate slightly; stir or re-blend before drinking. Do not freeze as the texture may become grainy.
