Description
A quick, nutritious, and creamy smoothie made with frozen bananas and mixed berries. This 5-minute breakfast is packed with antioxidants, fiber, and healthy fats to fuel your morning.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium ripe bananas (peeled, chunked, and frozen)
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries and blueberries)
- 1 cup liquid base (unsweetened almond milk, dairy milk, oat milk, or coconut water)
- 1 handful fresh spinach (optional)
- 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder (optional)
- 1 tablespoon almond butter, peanut butter, or chia seeds
- Honey or maple syrup (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients by peeling bananas, breaking them into chunks, and freezing for at least 4 hours or overnight. Wash berries and spinach.
- Pour the liquid base into the blender first to help the blades spin freely.
- Add soft ingredients like fresh spinach and nut butter or seeds to the blender.
- Add the frozen banana chunks, mixed berries, and protein powder (if using). Do not overfill the blender.
- Blend on low speed initially to break up large pieces, then gradually increase to high speed. Blend for 45-60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
- Check consistency; add more liquid if too thick or more ice/frozen fruit if too thin. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Serve immediately in a glass or mason jar, optionally garnished with fresh berries or granola.
Notes
Use ripe bananas with brown spots for natural sweetness. Adding liquid first prevents the blender from jamming. If using fresh fruit, add ice cubes but be aware this may dilute flavor. Clean the blender immediately after use by blending water and a drop of soap.
