  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A rich, creamy, and bright high-protein breakfast shake that tastes like banana bread batter. It combines ripe bananas, vanilla protein powder, almond butter, and warm spices for a velvety smooth drink that fuels you like a meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium ripe bananas (frozen preferred)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (whey isolate or plant-based)
  • 1 cup milk (dairy, almond, or oat)
  • 1 tbsp smooth almond butter
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (if bananas are not frozen)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Peel bananas and break into chunks. Freeze for at least two hours for a thick shake, or use fresh with extra ice.
  2. Pour milk and almond butter into a high-speed blender. Add maple syrup if using. Blend on low to mix.
  3. Add protein powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla extract. Add bananas (fresh or frozen).
  4. Blend on high for 45-60 seconds until thick and creamy. Scrape down sides if needed. Adjust consistency with more milk or ice.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice levels as desired.
  6. Pour into a glass or shaker bottle. Garnish with cinnamon or chocolate chips if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use frozen bananas to achieve a thick, frosty texture without watering down the flavor with ice. Mix protein powder with a little milk first to prevent clumping. A pinch of salt or a squeeze of lemon juice enhances the banana flavor and cuts sweetness.
